Hyper v black screen windows 10#
We see the windows startup screen in the open Hyper - V window, but then it goes back to the empty black screen. Environment: Ubuntu 18.04.2 hwe Xrdp build from latest 074cfde Xorgxrdp build from latest fde94a3 Blank screen after login from Windows 10 (after select Xorg and input name/password) xrdp-sesman.log 20190605-11:13:52 DEBUG libscp ini. I created a Generation 2 VM using Hyper-V and attached my VHDX file to this new VM. We tried turning the VM off from the Hyper-V Manager, and then turning it back on. Then I selected my OS partition and created a new VHDX file. I used Disk2VHD with the following options: I know for sure one with EFI indicator is the boot partition and C:\ is my actual operating system partition. Windows “ Disk Management” utility showed multiple partitions in my disk as shown below. Before creating a VHD, I cleaned up all the unused system files using windows “ Disk Cleanup”, uninstalled my antivirus software and moved all my data files to another disk to minimize the VHD size.
Hyper v black screen install#
I decided to create a clean install of Windows 10 on SSD and create a VHD of my current disk so that I can continue to use my old PC using Hyper-V until I finished setting up my new SSD. After the Windows 10 upgrade, most of the time my disk utilization was 100%. I had a Windows 7 PC, first I upgraded to Windows 8 then, Windows 8.1, and then upgraded to Windows 10.
